Corrie Ehler, Principal
Corrie Ehler is the owner and creator of Regulatory Connections (RC). As principal, she leads the firm in compliance advisory services, including regulatory auditing, correspondent banking, transaction testing, bank monitorship, and executive reporting. Corrie has in-depth experience in independent advisory for financial institutions through the firm and in partnership with firms such as Treliant Risk Advisors, RGP, Experis Risk Advisory, Ascent, and others. Corrie’s expertise spans over ten years of leadership experience, in addition to over a decade of advisory experience and project management in regulatory risk. Over the past twelve years, Corrie has conducted reviews of BSA/AML and Sanctions compliance programs for global and domestic financial institutions and FinTech companies.
In the past, Corrie has led a Global Compliance BSA/AML/OFAC team for a large global firm in the APAC region. As Senior Manager, she assisted in the remediation of the institution’s business continuity and disaster recovery plans. As a member of a federally appointed monitorship team, she contributed to oversight of a financial institution with 633 billion dollars in assets which was under a deferred prosecution agreement with the Department of Justice for aiding and abetting wire fraud. Corrie stands out in her industry for her expertise in cryptocurrency-based payment services, MSBs, emerging financial services including prepaid cards and payment processors.
Chelsea MacLaren, Project Manager
Chelsea MacLaren was executive assistant to Principal Corrie Ehler, when she first joined Regulatory Connections (RC) in 2022 before transitioning into her current Project Manager role at RC. Chelsea’s experience is in risk management and compliance, managing RC’s growing consultant relationships and partnering firms' network, in addition to her day-to-day back-office operations responsibilities. Chelsea received a B.A. in Writing from Mercy College and an Associates Degree in Creative Writing from Park University.
Chelsea is an active New York actor, singer, writer, and producer as well as owner of HER VISION production company. Her recent work includes short film, I LOVE YOU TOO, she wrote, produced, and starred in, which received critical success winning Best Concept at the 2022 Northeast Film Festival in addition to being nominated for Best Short Film in several other festivals around the US.
Denise Varsano, Social Media Coordinator
Denise Varsano was Regulatory Connections' (RC) inaugural 2023 Summer intern where she assisted the RC team with its pro bono case initiative in financial crimes. From there, RC wanted Denise on the team permanently as Social Media Coordinator.
Denise is currently pursuing a degree in Finance at Baruch College, with a minor in Psychology. Additionally she is a proud member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, recognizing academic excellence. Outside of her studies, she actively participates in various volleyball leagues, showcasing dedication to teamwork and competitive spirit.
